Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately. Repair and maintain various mechanical systems including engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes, shocks & struts, and powertrain components. Conduct oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and vehicle maintenance tasks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy equipment mechanics techniques to execute repairs effectively. Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex problems on diverse vehicle makes and models, including GM vehicles. Ensure all repairs meet dealership or industry standards for quality and safety while providing excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly. Maintain detailed records of work performed and communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow. Requirements Proven experience working as a car mechanic within the automotive repair industry with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), diesel engines, automotive electrical systems, and mechanical repair procedures. Proficiency in using diagnostic software and schematics for troubleshooting vehicle issues accurately. Hands-on experience with transmission repair, automotive suspension system repair, brake repair, wheel alignment, and oil change services. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools safely and efficiently. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance best practices along with familiarity with heavy equipment mechanics is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Valid certification in automotive repair or relevant technical training; ASE certification is highly desirable.
