Freedom Boat Club of New Jersey is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated intermediate-level Marine Mechanic . As a key member of our marine service department, you will play a crucial role in providing top-notch mechanical support for our fleet of boats. Your primary responsibility will be to troubleshoot and repair our vessels of various makes and models to ensure their safe and efficient operation. Responsibilities:

Diagnostic Assessments:

Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic assessments on Mercury and Yamaha outboard motorboats to identify mechanical, electrical, and technical issues.

Testing and Quality Assurance:

Conduct testing of repaired boats to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and adherence to safety standards.

Documentation:

Track work orders, inventory parts, and warranty items utilizing our software and process. Common boat maintenance skills required (but not limited to): Troubleshooting vessel startup issues Troubleshooting vessel performance issues Repairing bilge and live well pumps Replacing props and hubs Troubleshooting electrical issues - repairing nav lights, stereos, horns, switches, fuses, etc. Replacing transducers General knowledge of GPS and NMEA systems Repair or replace hydraulic and steering lines and cables Preventative maintenance (100-hour and 300-hour service) Please note: This position is not responsible for major engine services. Major engine issues will be managed by our warranty and certified technicians. We are seeking a mechanic with intermediate maintenance skills.

Requirements :

Ability to travel within our New Jersey and Hudson Valley New York region utilizing a company owned truck High school diploma or equivalent Diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues. Excellent communication skills to interact with members and team members professionally. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality service.
