BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Employee will become an integral member of the maintenance crew working under the direction of the Maintenance Shop Foreman. Employee will be responsible for maintaining and promoting professionalism; and for inspection, maintenance and repair of all equipment utilized by the Eddy County Road Department, Vector Control, Sign Department, and Environmental Services Department. Must have minimum two years' experience in the service and maintenance of light, medium, and heavy duty equipment, both gasoline and diesel. Must be able to read accurately all gauges on tools and equipment and make correct judgments in the operation of equipment. Must be able to read and understand maintenance manuals, publications, work orders, blueprints, and schematics. Responsible for the documentation of inspections and repairs performed. Responsible for the acquisition of the necessary parts, equipment, and tools to perform assigned tasks. Responsible for the maintenance of a safe and clean work area. Responsible for the fabrication of various tools, equipment, parts, and materials. Responsible for the continuing knowledge of maintenance and repair procedures, and the safe operation of all tools and equipment. Responsible for daily activity reports and equipment records. Must have the ability to perform all duties in an individual or crew environment, in the shop or field. Employee may be required to work irregular hours, overtime, attend job-related meetings, in and out of state, and perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED certificate required. Two (2) years' experience in service and maintenance of light, medium, and heavy-duty equipment, both gasoline and diesel.
Must successfully pass criminal and employment background investigations. Eligibility to work in the U.S. verified thru E- Verify. All job offers are contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Must possess a valid NM Driver's License and be insurable by the County Insurance Authority.
MUST PROVIDE A CURRENT DRIVING RECORD.
New Mexico Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is desirable
Ability to understand and communicate in English; both written and oral. Must be able to ask questions of the foreman and listen to and follow directions in English. Must be able to read and understand written directions in English. Must be able to communicate verbally with co-workers. Ability to inspect and recommend equipment for maintenance and operation requirement, operates welding and oxygen/acetylene equipment, and performs metal and wood fabrication. Must be able to operate all equipment on a limited basis for road testing and possess the initiative to perform repairs in the field. Read and understand maintenance manuals, publications, work orders, blueprints, and schematics. Ability to work with and utilize safely, the equipment, tools and materials necessary to perform assigned tasks.
Must be able to perform the primary duties as listed and must be able to work in conditions as listed below. Ability to perform work on even/uneven terrain, inclines, wet or dry surfaces, and on hard surfaces or dirt roads.
