CDL, Mechanic, Delivery Driver Garden Center of Las Cruces Las Cruces, NM Job Details Full-time $20 - $22 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Oil change CDL DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations Loader operation Skid steer loader Full Job Description Overview This is a hands-on position for someone who has a valid CDL and general mechanical knowledge and is comfortable working with commercial trucks, skid steers, loaders, trailers, and other landscaping/construction equipment. If candidate is not operating a semi truck they will be able to drive our delivery trailer to make hours (40-50) The ideal candidate is someone who can safely operate and transport equipment and materials while also helping keep our trucks and equipment running properly. You don't need to be a master mechanic—we are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, can troubleshoot problems, perform basic repairs and maintenance, and knows when a repair requires a professional. Responsibilities Operate commercial vehicles safely and responsibly Haul and deliver landscaping materials, rock, gravel, plants, trees, and other products Load, secure, transport, and unload materials and equipment Operate skid steers, loaders, and other heavy equipment Perform routine maintenance on trucks, trailers, skid steers, loaders, and other equipment Troubleshoot basic mechanical and equipment issues Perform basic repairs such as changing hoses, belts, filters, batteries, lights, tires, and other components Perform oil changes, greasing, fluid checks, and preventative maintenance Inspect equipment before and after use Identify mechanical problems and communicate when outside repair is needed Keep equipment, trucks, and work areas clean and organized Assist with general yard and landscaping operations when needed Follow all applicable DOT, safety, and company requirements Maintain accurate vehicle and equipment maintenance records Help keep the company's fleet and equipment in reliable working condition
