Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Sparks, Nevada (Reno/Tahoe Metro Area) for an Experienced Technician specializing in pre-2000 sports cars and race cars. The technician will perform diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on classic and high-performance vehicles, including engine, drivetrain, suspension, braking, and electrical systems. Day-to-day tasks include conducting thorough inspections, troubleshooting complex mechanical issues, performing restorations and upgrades, and ensuring all work meets safety and performance specifications. The role also involves preparing vehicles for track events, performing pre- and post-track checks, and collaborating with the team to plan and execute track support. The technician will maintain detailed service records, communicate clearly with service advisors or management, and help uphold a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment. Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of older, historically significant vehicles with points and carburetors. Knowledge of engine, transmission, suspension, braking, and electrical systems, including both mechanical and electronic components. Experience with restoration techniques such as component rebuilding, fitment, and preservation of original parts and finishes. Ability to use professional shop tools, diagnostic equipment, and technical documentation safely and effectively. Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship, particularly with classic and specialty vehicles. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small team. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, including track support and event preparation. Effective written and verbal communication skills for documenting work and discussing technical issues with colleagues and clients. Prior experience in motorsports, track support, or performance tuning is highly beneficial. ASE certifications, manufacturer training, or equivalent professional credentials are preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to safely operate high-value performance vehicles.
