Job Description

The City of Amsterdam is seeking a motivated and skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an up-and-coming mechanic who wants to expand their skills while working side-by-side with seasoned professionals. Our mechanics maintain and repair a diverse fleet of municipal vehicles and heavy equipment, including: Trucks Diesel equipment Snowplows Tractors Bulldozers Graders Rollers Minimum qualifications: ✔ Three years of experience as a skilled heavy equipment or diesel engine mechanic through a combination of paid work experience, technical training, trade school, vocational education, or other related schooling ✔ Experience diagnosing and repairing automotive and mechanical equipment ✔ Welding and fabrication experience is desirable ✔ A valid New York State CDL Class A or B license is required and must be maintained throughout employment If you're looking for a position that offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and the opportunity to work on a wide variety of equipment, we'd like to hear from you.
