Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs Prepare detailed repair estimates using estimating software, clearly explaining necessary repairs and recommended services Communicate effectively with service technicians to relay customer concerns and gather diagnostic information Assist customers in selecting appropriate services, including oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, suspension work, transmissions, alignments, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and collision repairs Upsell additional maintenance or repair services by highlighting benefits and explaining options to enhance vehicle performance and safety Manage all aspects of service writing, including documenting vehicle issues, ordering parts, and updating repair status in the system Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper documentation for all customer charges Utilize automotive diagnostics tools and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software to ensure precise assessments Maintain excellent client communication throughout the service process to foster trust and satisfaction Qualifications Proven experience as a Service Writer or similar role within an automotive dealership or repair shop Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures Experience with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools Background in dealership environments or auto service management is highly desirable Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally Knowledge of key automotive systems such as transmissions, brakes, suspension, tire services, shocks & struts, oil changes, air brake systems, alignments, and collision repair processes Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; driving experience preferred Cash handling experience and attention to detail for accurate billing Join us in delivering outstanding automotive care by combining your technical expertise with exceptional client communication.
