Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Salvage Yard/Mechanic-Dismentler to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for dismantling vehicles safely and efficiently, utilizing your mechanical expertise to remove parts for resale or recycling. Your hands-on skills will ensure that all disassembly procedures adhere to safety standards while maintaining the integrity of vehicle components. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your mechanical knowledge and manual handling skills make a tangible impact. Duties Safely disassemble vehicles by removing engines, transmissions, body parts, and other components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics. Use mechanical systems repair knowledge to troubleshoot and repair vehicle parts as needed during disassembly. Operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters to test electrical systems and ensure proper functioning of vehicle components. Maintain strict adherence to safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of power tools and welding equipment. Document disassembly procedures accurately, including parts removed and inventory updates. Assist with vehicle maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) tasks to support yard efficiency. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about vehicle parts and assisting team members with mechanical tasks. Qualifications Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive or diesel mechanics. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, schematics, and automotive electrical systems. Experience with maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) in a salvage or automotive environment. Ability to handle manual tasks safely and efficiently while lifting heavy vehicle parts using manual handling techniques. Knowledge of safety regulations related to vehicle dismantling and mechanical repairs. Familiarity with automotive service procedures and electrical testing using devices such as ohmmeters. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to follow technical schematics accurately. Excellent communication skills with a focus on teamwork and customer service orientation.
