The PM Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, inspections, routine repairs, and service work on heavy-duty trucks and related equipment. This position plays a critical role in maintaining fleet reliability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring vehicles are safe and ready for operation. Days:

Monday - Friday Essential Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventive maintenance services on heavy-duty trucks and fleet vehicles. Complete DOT and other required safety inspections. Perform routine maintenance including oil and filter changes, lubrication, fluid checks, belt and hose inspections, and brake inspections. Inspect vehicles for worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components and identify needed repairs. Perform basic electrical, hydraulic, air, and mechanical troubleshooting. Diagnose and repair minor mechanical and electrical issues as needed. Inspect tires, brakes, suspension, steering, lighting, and other safety-related components. Accurately document all maintenance and repair work performed. Complete work orders with parts, labor, mileage/hours, and repair information. Communicate additional repair needs to the Shop Foreman or Service Manager. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety policies, manufacturer procedures, and applicable DOT regulations. Properly use and maintain shop tools, diagnostic equipment, and service equipment. Assist other technicians with repairs and troubleshooting when needed. Help ensure trucks are serviced and ready for the next day's operation. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Previous experience performing preventive maintenance on heavy-duty trucks, commercial vehicles, or heavy equipment preferred. Basic understanding of diesel engines, drivetrains, brakes, electrical systems, and suspension systems. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems. Ability to read and understand service manuals and maintenance procedures. Basic computer skills and ability to use electronic work-order systems. Valid driver's license required. CDL preferred but not required. Ability to provide and maintain required tools. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in awkward positions for extended periods. Ability to work around heavy equipment, trucks, tools, lubricants, and other shop materials. Ability to safely work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, grease, and varying temperatures. Preferred Experience 2+ years of heavy-duty truck or diesel technician experience. Experience with fleet preventive maintenance programs. Experience with DOT inspections. Experience with electronic diagnostic tools. ASE or OEM certifications are a plus. CDL Class A or B is a plus.
