If you like working on vehicles, but don't want a "mechanic" type job, this could be a perfect fit. As an Emergency Vehicle Technician, you will be installing various types of emergency equipment; (lights, sirens, prisoner partitions, weapon mounts, consoles, radios, controllers, radar equipment, camera/DVR systems, push bumpers, etc.) on Police, Fire and Construction vehicles.
Duties include:
New equipment installation, general prep/service work, repairs, programming, etc.
You must be able to:
Communicate & work with other employees to execute efficient and quality installations that meet company standards. Provide direct customer service as needed, perform diagnostics/troubleshoot and make repairs to equipment.
You must be able to:
Work inside small areas like vehicle trunks, underneath cars, in engine compartments, underneath dashboards. Must be able to lift, squat, kneel, stoop, bend, lay down, twist, climb, stand, sit, etc. in order to install police related equipment. Assemble small and large items like: brackets, partitions, light bars, push bumpers, cargo boxes, vehicle parts, fasteners, wires, loom, clamps, cable ties, etc. using both hands. Be in overall good physical health and have full motion/use of hands, fingers, arms, legs, feet, shoulders, elbows, neck, etc. to fit into tight spaces and inspect/install wiring and products inside tight compartments, under, in and around the vehicle. Must be able to work above, in, on and under vehicles. Have attention to detail and a great work ethic. A valid drivers license & insurance is required, no exceptions. Basic automotive (12- Volt ) electrical knowledge along with general automotive experience is preferred. If you have working or advanced knowledge of current emergency vehicle lighting systems, sirens, controllers, light bar programming, radar systems, in-car camera systems, mobile radio installations, troubleshooting ability, etc., this is a Plus!
