This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of vehicle makes and models, ensuring optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive mechanical expertise, proficiency with automotive diagnostics, and a strong understanding of various systems including diesel engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes, and electrical components. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where technical excellence and customer satisfaction are paramount.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform thorough diagnostics using automotive schematics and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues across diverse vehicle systems. Conduct repairs and maintenance on all makes and models, including diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, suspension components, shocks & struts, and electrical systems. Execute routine services such as oil changes, tire rotations, wheel alignments, brake repairs, and vehicle maintenance to ensure safety and reliability. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and mechanical knowledge to complete repairs efficiently. Interpret technical manuals and schematics to accurately troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems. Repair or replace automotive components including powertrain parts, mechanical systems, and electronic modules. Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle serviced and communicate findings clearly to customers. Assist in estimating repair costs using auto estimating software while providing excellent customer service. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Stay current with industry developments such as ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) technology and heavy equipment mechanics.
Experience:
Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with a focus on all makes and models. Dealership experience is preferred but not mandatory; candidates with extensive independent shop backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, schematics interpretation, and diagnostic procedures. Hands-on experience repairing diesel engines, transmissions (including powertrain repairs), suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts. Familiarity with automotive service procedures such as oil changes, wheel alignments, tire service, welding, and heavy equipment maintenance. Ability to work efficiently using hand tools and power tools while adhering to safety protocols. Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with customer service skills to explain repairs clearly to clients. Certifications or training related to automotive diagnostics or specific vehicle brands (e.g., GM vehicles) are advantageous.
