Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues across various vehicle systems including powertrain, electrical, suspension, and transmission. Conduct repairs and maintenance on vehicles, including engine repairs (gas and diesel), transmission system repairs, vehicle suspension system repairs, and alignment services. Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics accurately to troubleshoot electrical problems efficiently. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to complete repairs with precision. Service vehicles by replacing or repairing components such as engines, transmissions, axles, brakes, and electrical systems while adhering to safety standards. Assist in auto estimating processes by assessing repair needs and communicating effectively with customers about required services. Maintain detailed records of all work performed and ensure compliance with dealership or shop standards. Requirements Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair. Familiarity with schematics, automotive wiring diagrams, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and automotive electrical systems. Hands-on experience with vehicle maintenance including powertrain, vehicle transmission system repair, vehicle suspension system repair, and alignment services. Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools and understanding of automotive systems such as diesel engines and GM vehicles is highly desirable. Mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and auto estimating software. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Valid mechanic certification or equivalent technical training; prior dealership experience is preferred. Ability to interpret technical manuals and automotive wiring diagrams accurately while working efficiently under pressure.
