Job Description

Ken Ganley Buick GMC is looking for a service tech! call or stop in today and ask for Megan West 419-502-5121 As a General Motors Service Technician, you will play a key role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles produced by General Motors. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work with cutting-edge automotive technology. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and reliability of General Motors vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Diagnosis and Repair:
Conduct thorough diagnostic assessments of General Motors vehicles to identify issues and malfunctions. Perform repairs and maintenance services according to General Motors' specifications and guidelines. Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot complex automotive systems.
Technical Expertise:
Stay current with General Motors' technical bulletins, service manuals, and training materials. Keep abreast of advancements in automotive technology and attend training sessions to enhance skills. Specialize in specific vehicle systems or technologies as required.
Quality Control:
Ensure that all repairs meet or exceed General Motors' quality standards. Conduct post-repair inspections to verify the effectiveness of repairs and address any additional issues.
Customer Interaction:
Communicate effectively with customers to understand their vehicle concerns. Provide clear explanations of necessary repairs, costs, and timelines. Address customer inquiries and concerns professionally.
Documentation:
Accurately document all diagnostic procedures, repairs performed, and parts used. Complete service reports and maintain detailed records of each vehicle's service history.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with service advisors, parts department, and other technicians to ensure seamless workflow. Provide assistance and guidance to junior technicians as needed.
Compliance and Safety:
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines in the service center. Stay informed about and comply with General Motors' safety and environmental standards.
Qualifications:
Completion of a formal automotive technician training program or equivalent experience. ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications are highly desirable. Proven experience as an automotive service technician, with specialization in General Motors vehicles preferred. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with General Motors' repair and maintenance procedures. Ability to work with various diagnostic tools and equipment.
