Job Description
The Mobile Trailer Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the operational reliability and safety of trailers used across various industries. This position involves performing on-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of trailer types, often in diverse and challenging environments. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime and maximize fleet efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience as a trailer technician or in a similar mechanical repair role. Strong knowledge of trailer systems including brakes, electrical wiring, and hydraulics. Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment safely and effectively. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Preferred Qualifications:
Certification from a recognized technical or vocational school in trailer or heavy equipment repair. Experience working as a mobile technician with the ability to manage time and prioritize tasks independently. Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety standards related to trailer maintenance. Basic welding and fabrication skills. Customer service experience in a field service environment.Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs on trailers at customer locations. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system issues using specialized tools and equipment. Replace or repair components such as brakes, tires, lighting systems, suspension, and wiring. Maintain accurate service records and communicate effectively with customers and dispatch teams. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all service activities.Skills:
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities. Effective communication and customer service skills. Time management and organizational skills to prioritize service calls and maintain detailed maintenance records.
