We are actively seeking a hardworking, hands-on problem solver to join our team as a Trailer Maintenance Technician . This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of dry van and refrigerated trailers, with a strong focus on welding and fabrication, electrical and lighting systems, Thermo King refrigeration units, and general trailer maintenance. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded trailer maintenance professional who takes pride in troubleshooting problems, making quality repairs, and keeping equipment safe, reliable, and DOT compliant.

Essential Functions:

Inspect trailers and fleet equipment to identify maintenance needs and determine the scope of required repairs. Perform maintenance and repairs on dry vans, refrigerated trailers, and other fleet trailers to ensure compliance with DOT regulations. Diagnose and repair trailer electrical systems, including lighting, wiring, ABS components, and related electrical equipment. Perform welding, fabrication, and structural repairs on trailers, including floors, walls, doors, frames, liftgates, and other trailer components. Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance on Thermo King refrigeration units. Repair and replace trailer components such as brakes, suspension, landing gear, air systems, doors, seals, and tires as needed. Perform preventative maintenance services, inspections, and DOT annual inspections on trailers and related equipment. Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repair work completed. Keep the shop, tools, and work area clean, organized, and safe.

Job Requirements:

Experience maintaining and repairing semi-trailers, refrigerated trailers, or similar commercial fleet equipment. Strong welding and metal fabrication skills, including the ability to repair structural trailer components. Working knowledge of trailer electrical systems, including lighting, wiring, and diagnostics. Experience servicing and troubleshooting Thermo King refrigeration units preferred. Knowledge of trailer air brake, suspension, and pneumatic systems. Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and structural trailer issues. Familiarity with DOT inspection standards and preventative maintenance practices. Ability to safely lift 75+ pounds. Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with the maintenance team. Preferred Qualities 3+ years' experience Class A CDL Yard spotter experience a plus

Pay:

$27.60 - $33.23 per hour
