$20.00 - $30.00 per hour Job description:
OVERVIEW
Fast-paced, busy commercial roofing construction company requires a person to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures, repairing and maintaining small gas motors. Candidate will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repair on all roofing & shop equipment. Responsible for the daily and weekly general maintenance of assigned mechanic equipment. Responsible for reporting all equipment break downs and/or malfunctions to management.
TYPICAL DUTIES
Work with hoisting and jacking equipment, power tools, measuring instruments, gauges and meters, and lubricating equipment. Building and assembling machines or mechanical components according to requirements. Inspecting machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues. Conducting repairs aiming for maximum reliability. Preforming preventative maintenance Assist in shop housekeeping functions such as maintenance scheduling and spare parts inventory control. Make estimates of material, labor, and equipment requirements. Keeps routine work records and inventories. Performs related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18 years or over Previous gasoline/diesel engine experience or equivalent trade school certification. Basic understanding of AC/DC electrical. Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements. Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues. Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability. Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner. Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems. Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components. Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery. Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users. Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g. repair of hydraulic systems, painting vehicles etc.) Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions. Ability to maintain simple records. Valid Driver's License with clean driving record. Reliable and on-time on a daily basis, including transportation to and from work. Willingness and ability to learn the work practices and procedures applicable to construction mechanics. Able to tolerate and be comfortable with heights.
