Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Automotive Technician to join our team and drive excellence in vehicle repair and maintenance. Your expertise in automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and advanced repair techniques will be vital in delivering top-tier service for a wide range of vehicles, including heavy-duty trucks and specialty equipment. Duties Lead and supervise a team of automotive technicians, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality repairs. Perform complex diagnostics using schematics, automotive electrical systems, and diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately. Oversee repairs on various mechanical systems including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and powertrain components. Conduct vehicle maintenance services such as oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, shocks & struts replacement, and auto body repairs. Ensure all repairs comply with safety standards and manufacturer specifications; utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and mechanical knowledge effectively. Review repair procedures with team members; provide training on new technologies like ADAS calibration or diesel engine repair techniques. Maintain detailed documentation of repairs performed; interpret schematics and technical manuals for precise troubleshooting. Deliver exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process. Requirements Proven dealership experience with a strong background in automotive repair industry standards. Extensive knowledge of automotive electrical systems, mechanical systems repair, transmissions, diesel engines, and suspension systems. Hands-on experience with ADAS calibration, auto estimating software, auto body repair processes, and GM vehicle maintenance is preferred. Skilled in using diagnostic equipment for automotive diagnostics; familiar with schematics interpretation. Ability to work efficiently with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy-duty mechanical tools. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience working on transmissions, brake repair, oil changes, tire service, shocks & struts replacement, and alignment services. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor technicians; experience managing a team in an automotive setting is highly desirable. Valid certifications related to diesel mechanics or heavy equipment mechanics are a plus; ASE certification is preferred.
