Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive service and customer relations, with the ability to effectively communicate with both customers and technicians. As a Service Writer, you will play a crucial role in managing service requests, providing estimates, and ensuring customer satisfaction through exceptional service. Duties Greet customers and assess their vehicle service needs, providing excellent customer service at all times. Prepare accurate service estimates based on customer requests and vehicle diagnostics. Communicate effectively with technicians to relay customer concerns and ensure proper understanding of required repairs. Upsell additional services and products based on vehicle maintenance needs and customer preferences. Maintain detailed records of services performed, parts used, and customer interactions. Handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly. Stay informed about the latest automotive technologies, repair techniques, and dealership promotions to provide informed recommendations to customers. Assist in managing the workflow of the service department to ensure timely completion of repairs. Requirements Previous experience in an automotive dealership or service environment is preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and vehicle maintenance practices. Familiarity with service writing processes and auto estimating procedures is highly desirable. Experience in upselling services and products to enhance customer satisfaction is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients. Understanding of various automotive repairs including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, alignment, suspension work, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repair is beneficial. Ability to work collaboratively with service technicians while maintaining clear communication regarding repairs needed. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping. Cash handling experience is preferred but not mandatory.
