Job Description

About the Role Johnson RV is hiring! If you know your way around a spray gun — whether your background is automotive, collision, marine, aviation, industrial coatings, or custom paint — we want to talk to you. You don't need RV experience to succeed here. Our senior painter is ready to train and mentor the right candidate on everything RV-specific, from fiberglass and metal structure work to woodwork and roof replacements. Painting and refinishing skills transfer directly to the RV industry. If you can lay down clean primer and paint, we can teach you the body and structural side of the trade — and put you on a path toward the top of our pay range. What You'll Do Prep, prime, and paint RV surfaces including fiberglass, aluminum, metal, and plastic Operate and maintain the paint mixing station and spray equipment Learn and perform collision repairs — fiberglass work, metal structure work, woodwork, and roof replacements — under the guidance of our senior painter and body shop team Use repair and refinish products to manufacturer specifications so every repair meets factory standards Take repairs from start through a primed, paint-ready finish — and eventually start to final finish What We're Looking For Hands-on painting or refinishing experience in any industry — automotive, collision, marine, aviation, industrial, fleet, or custom work Experience with spray primer and paint application; paint mixing station experience is a big plus Body shop / collision repair experience is a plus, not a requirement — we will train Willingness to learn RV-specific materials: fiberglass, plastic, metal, aluminum, and wood Basic hand tools (we'll help you build out the rest as you grow into the role) Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and thrives in a collaborative team environment Valid driver's license and a clean driving record Ability to pass a background check and drug screen Working at Johnson RV At Johnson RV, we don't just sell RVs — we help families accomplish their dreams as professional outfitters. We're expanding our team to keep up with the booming RV industry, and we invest in our people with competitive compensation, an excellent work environment, and continuing education and training to grow your skills in RV repair.
In addition:
Free use of an RV! Paid vacations 401(k) with employer match Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance Mentorship from a senior painter committed to developing your career A positive work environment promoting excellence, innovation, and teamwork If you've been painting cars, boats, planes, or anything in between — bring your skills to Johnson RV and let us teach you a growing trade with real earning potential.
