Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately across various vehicle systems. Conduct repairs and maintenance on powertrain components, transmissions, vehicle suspension systems, and electrical systems following schematics and wiring diagrams. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to execute repairs efficiently and safely. Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot electrical issues within complex vehicle systems. Repair or replace vehicle components such as engines (including diesel engines), transmissions, axles, steering, and suspension parts to restore optimal performance. Conduct wheel alignments and vehicle transmission system repairs to ensure proper handling and safety standards. Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly, maintaining professionalism, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process. Experience Proven dealership or service center experience as an automotive technician or mechanic. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, including the use of advanced diagnostic tools for modern vehicles. Hands-on experience with vehicle maintenance, including engine repair (gasoline and diesel), transmission work, suspension system repair, and electrical troubleshooting. Familiarity with automotive wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals for accurate repairs. Demonstrated ability to work with automotive service software for auto estimating and job documentation. Experience working on GM vehicles or similar makes is preferred but not required. Prior service technician experience involving auto estimating, welding, alignment procedures, and general maintenance tasks is highly valued.
