The Automotive Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair services on customer vehicles, from basic care to more complex diagnostics and repairs. This position plays a critical role in ensuring vehicle safety, customer satisfaction, and overall service center efficiency. Technicians must demonstrate professionalism and technical ability. Key Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions): Install, balance, rotate, repair, and stud tires on passenger and light truck vehicles. Perform general maintenance services, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks. Identify mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and techniques. Perform brake system repairs, wheel bearing replacements, battery testing/installation, and suspension work. If applicable, conduct State Safety Inspections (if certified). Perform repairs and servicing on HVAC systems and related components. Maintain clean, organized work areas and shop equipment. Assist with loading and unloading tires, including lace truck operations. Deliver friendly, helpful customer service when interacting with customers. Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a culture of workplace safety.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Frequently lifts and carries or otherwise moves equipment, tools, and parts weighing over 50 pounds independently. Occasionally lifts and carries or otherwise moves equipment, tools, and parts weighing over 75 pounds with the assistance of another person or the use of appropriate lifting equipment Standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and repetitive motion required throughout shift. Regular exposure to shop environment including noise, odors, temperature changes, and vehicle fluids. Must be able to operate equipment and tools safely and properly. Work hours align with store hours.
Requirements & Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or automotive training preferred. PA Safety Inspection License required (or willingness to obtain). Valid driver's license Solid understanding of automotive systems and repair techniques Familiarity with tire mounting, balancing, repair, and related services. Willingness to learn through hands-on training and formal instruction. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or on a team. Effective communication and basic customer service skills.
