Job Description
Job Summary The Fleet Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of company-owned trailers, with secondary support for truck maintenance. This role ensures the safety, reliability, and compliance of fleet equipment. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on fleet trailers (primary focus) and Class 8 diesel trucks Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on trailers and fleet equipment Perform brake, suspension, lighting, and structural repairs on trailers Conduct
FHWA/DOT
inspections and ensure regulatory compliance Troubleshoot failures and complete timely repairs to minimize downtime Perform tire changes and general service as needed Complete welding and fabrication work for trailer repairs and modifications Maintain accurate service records and inspection documentation Follow company safety standards and ensure all work is performed safely Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition Qualifications 2+ years of experience in trailer, diesel, or heavy equipment maintenance Strong knowledge of trailer systems (brakes, suspension, electrical) Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues Welding and fabrication experience preferred Experience withDOT/FHWA
inspections preferred Must have own tools (as applicable) Valid driver's license required (CDL a plus, if applicable) Strong attention to safety and detail Work Schedule & Compensation Full-time; typical schedule: Monday-Friday (e.g., 7:00am - 5:30pm).
