With over 3000 dedicated employees across the US and India, Actalent offers comprehensive and innovative solutions, specializing in energy and utilities, automotive, transportation, medical devices, consumer/industrial products and material handling. We are looking for a Mechanical Technician who likes learning new things, thinking independently, and is interested in working alongside engineers on a product development team. Our technicians work in a hands-on environment as members of cross functional engineering teams- supporting the development of new products. This role will work onsite at our customer location in Coopersburg, PA and will be part of a team that develops high-end home automation and lighting products. Our technicians work closely with engineers and can be involved in the product development process from initial concept, through development and testing. Project work involves setting up test environments that mimic the environment and usage our customer products may see in the real world. This may mean the technician will set up prototype automated blinds, dimmer switches, and lighting systems on "test walls". They will help perform abuse testing of products and log test data into Excel spreadsheets.
