DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position maintains and repairs a wide range of vehicles, tools, and construction equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. As an Automotive Mechanic, you will perform the following duties:

Vehicle Repair:

Perform skilled maintenance on cars, trucks, tractors, construction equipment, and powered hand tools

Preventive Care:

Carry out routine services such as oil changes, diagnostics, tune-ups, tire changes, and system repairs

Safety Inspection:

Complete official state safety and emissions inspections and document required records

Field Service:

Conduct emergency repairs and make necessary adjustments at garage or field locations

Equipment Records:

Maintain detailed documentation of repairs, parts used, and conditions of equipment

Parts Acquisition:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work hours are subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.

Salary:

Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $49,819.00 (before taxes). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or Completion of an approved apprenticeship; or Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Special Requirements:

This position requires possession of a current and valid Pennsylvania driver's license. This position requires possession of a valid Class 1 Inspection Mechanic certificate or equivalent that allows inspection for Class 1 vehicles.
