Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Emergency Vehicle Installer/Upfitter Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, upgrading, and maintaining specialized equipment on emergency vehicles, ensuring they meet rigorous safety and performance standards. Your expertise will help first responders operate at their best, providing vital services to communities. Duties Install, modify, and upgrade emergency vehicle equipment such as lighting, sirens, communication systems, cameras, partitions and specialized hardware following schematics and technical specifications. Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to ensure accurate electrical system integration. Conduct diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on various vehicle systems. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to complete installations efficiently and safely. Test installed systems for proper operation, including ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), vehicle electrical systems, and other electronic components. Maintain detailed records of work performed, adhere to safety protocols, and ensure compliance with industry standards for emergency vehicle upfitting. Skills Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive repair, installation and 12 volt installation. Proficiency in reading automotive wiring diagrams, schematics, and understanding complex vehicle electrical systems. Experience working with ADAS technology and automotive diagnostic tools for troubleshooting electronic systems. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive service tools. Ability to interpret automotive electrical diagrams accurately and perform wiring modifications as needed. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Familiarity with GM, Ford, Doodge vehicles or similar makes is a plus Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining high-quality standards.
