Job Summary O'Donnell's Auto Repair is a high-volume, trusted automotive repair center dedicated to delivering top-tier service to our local community. We are searching for an exceptional, multi-talented professional to fill a hybrid role as a Journeyman Automotive Technician and Service Writer . If you possess deep mechanical expertise, enjoy customer service, and hold active Pennsylvania inspection licenses, we want you on our team. Job Overview In this dual-role capacity, you will serve as the technical backbone of our front counter and shop workflow. You will leverage your journeyman-level experience to accurately evaluate vehicles and write transparent repair estimates, while stepping into the shop to perform critical diagnostics and PA Safety and Emission inspections . This position is ideal for a veteran tech looking to transition away from full-time heavy lifting while utilizing their valuable licensing and diagnostic mastery.
Key Responsibilities PA State Inspections:
Perform official Pennsylvania Safety and Emission inspections in strict compliance with state regulations and documentation requirements.Service Advising & Estimates:
Greet customers, listen to vehicle symptoms, and accurately translate complex technical diagnostics into clear, upfront repair options.Sales & Workflow Management:
Build accurate parts and labor estimates, order parts, and schedule appointments to maintain steady shop flow.Advanced Troubleshooting:
Assist our team of technicians with complex diagnostic challenges, wiring issues, and drivability problems as needed.Qualifications & Skills Licensing:
Must possess a valid, active PA Safety Inspection License and PA Emission Inspection License .Experience:
Minimum of 3-5+ years of experience as a Journeyman Automotive Technician. Previous service writing or service advisor experience is highly preferred.Communication:
Outstanding customer service and active listening skills with the ability to build immediate trust with patrons.Tech-Savvy:
Familiarity with modern shop management software and digital inspection systems.Requirements:
Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with a clean driving record.
