Job Overview Join our dynamic automotive team as a Used Car Reconditioning Technician! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for preparing pre-owned vehicles to meet high-quality standards, ensuring each car is safe, reliable, and visually appealing for our customers. Your expertise will help us deliver exceptional vehicle quality and customer satisfaction. Duties Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify necessary repairs and reconditioning needs. Conduct mechanical repairs including engine diagnostics, transmission work, suspension system repairs, brake repairs, and oil changes. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive electrical systems to complete repairs efficiently. Repair and replace automotive components such as shocks & struts, tires, wheel alignments, and auto body parts to restore vehicle appearance and functionality. Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues. Ensure all vehicles meet safety standards by performing ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration and alignment checks. Maintain detailed records of work performed, adhere to safety protocols, and ensure timely completion of reconditioning tasks. Experience Proven dealership or automotive repair industry experience with hands-on mechanical repair skills. Strong knowledge of automotive systems including powertrain, transmission, suspension, brakes, electrical systems, and diesel engine repair. Familiarity with schematics reading, automotive diagnostics tools, and vehicle maintenance procedures. Experience working with heavy equipment mechanics or diesel mechanics is a plus. Ability to work efficiently using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on quality workmanship and attention to detail. Prior experience with GM vehicles or auto body repair is advantageous but not required.
