Job Description

The H&K Group is seeking a Truck Shop Mechanic for 2nd Shift to maintain and repair a fleet of construction trucks and heavy equipment. In this role, you will perform diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems to keep equipment safe and job-ready. You'll complete work orders, inspect vehicles, and respond to breakdowns while following strict safety procedures. Responsibilities Inspect, maintain, and repair construction trucks and heavy equipment Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and brake issues Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately Follow safety procedures and company standards at all times Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform field repairs as needed Use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and shop equipment safely Collaborate with operators and supervisors to prioritize repairs Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment Required Skills Diesel engine diagnosis and repair Hydraulic systems maintenance Truck brake systems (air and hydraulic) Electrical systems troubleshooting (12 V/24 V) Preventative maintenance procedures Use of diagnostic scanners and tools Reading technical manuals and schematics Welding and light fabrication Shop safety and OSHA practices Maintenance recordkeeping
