Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Automotive Service Writer to join our fast-paced repair shop team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact between customers and our service department, ensuring a seamless experience from vehicle drop-off to pick-up. Your expertise in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and customer service will drive customer satisfaction and help maximize service sales. Duties Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs Write detailed service estimates using estimating software, accurately documenting vehicle issues and recommended repairs Communicate effectively with technicians regarding diagnostics, repairs, and estimated timeframes Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, suspension work, shocks & struts, transmissions, and collision repair to enhance customer value Manage client communication throughout the repair process, providing updates and explaining repair procedures clearly Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently while maintaining accurate records Collaborate with service technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs and quality control standards are met Qualifications Proven experience in automotive service writing or auto service management within a dealership or repair shop environment Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and repair procedures Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally Experience in auto estimating, sales techniques, and upselling services effectively Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to drive various vehicles safely Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and maintain detailed records Join us to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to delivering exceptional automotive care!
