Job Description
Overview D&M Transportation is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tractor Mechanics to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle maintenance and repair, with a focus on tractors. This role requires proficiency in diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment meets safety standards. The Tractor Mechanic will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with other mechanics and technicians to maintain our fleet's operational efficiency. Schedule Monday thru Friday 1700 - 0300 Pay will depend on experience $22.00 - $35.00 per hour Duties Conduct thorough inspections of tractors to identify mechanical issues. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on air brake systems, diesel engines, and electrical components. Utilize schematics to diagnose problems and implement effective solutions. Operate power tools safely and efficiently to complete repairs. Execute brake repair tasks, ensuring all systems function correctly. Provide tire service, including mounting, balancing, and alignment. Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on each trailer. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of work orders. Experience Proven experience in tractor trailer repair or vehicle maintenance is required. Familiarity with air brake systems and diesel engine repair is highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes. Experience using power tools and diagnostic equipment effectively. Strong electrical knowledge related to trailer systems is a plus. Previous experience in tire service or brake repair will be preferred. A commitment to safety standards and practices in the workplace is essential.
