Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Trailer Mechanic, where you'll be at the forefront of maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of trailers and heavy-duty equipment. Duties Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on trailers, heavy equipment, and industrial machinery using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct repairs on transmissions, brakes (including air brake systems), suspensions, shocks & struts, hydraulics, and steering components to ensure optimal performance. Fabricate parts or modify existing equipment using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs. Maintain and repair diesel engines, HVAC systems, electrical wiring, and lighting systems on trailers and heavy machinery. Execute tire service including mounting, dismounting, balancing, and replacing tires on various vehicles such as tractor-trailers and forklifts. Use heavy equipment operation skills to handle excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery safely during maintenance tasks. Document all maintenance activities accurately; follow safety protocols; perform heavy lifting; assist with assembly and equipment repair projects as needed. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair, trailer maintenance, or heavy equipment servicing. Dealership experience is highly desirable for familiarity with manufacturer standards and diagnostic procedures. Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals; proficient with automotive diagnostics tools. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of using power tools safely. Knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC units, and electrical systems. Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts safely and efficiently. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills; able to communicate technical information clearly.
