About the role, Your Impact Baxter & Woodman is looking for a part-time, on-call Truck Weight Check Technician for our Peoria Heights, IL office to assist with IDOT District 4 construction projects. This position supports material weight verification checks for hot-mix asphalt and aggregate deliveries when requested by IDOT Resident Engineers. The technician will report to a supervisor based out of the Peoria Heights office and will travel to active construction sites, coordinate with project personnel and independent scale operators, select loaded trucks for verification, document loaded and empty weights, andplete the required weight check report. What your day-to-day will look like Assist with truck weight verification checks for hot-mix asphalt and aggregate deliveries on IDOT District 4 construction projects.

Travel to active construction sites as requested by IDOT Resident Engineers.

Coordinate with project personnel and independent scale operators during weight check activities.

Select loaded trucks for verification and document loaded and empty truck weights.

Complete required weight check reports accurately and in a timely manner.

Work independently in an active construction environment while maintaining safe and professional interactions around active construction traffic and equipment.

Communicate regularly with supervisors based out of Baxter & Woodman's Peoria Heights office. Education/License Requirement Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

Valid driver's license. Must-haves, what you will bring Experience working in construction, field inspection, trucking, or materials testing experience is preferred but not required.

Ability to work independently and accuratelyplete weight verification documentation.

Availability and flexibility for on-call work based on project schedules and operational needs.

Ability to travel to IDOT construction sites throughout the IDOT District 4 region.

Ability to collect, record, and verify weight data accurately.

Strong written, verbal,puter, andanizational skills.

Ability to navigate project sites and work safely around active construction traffic and equipment.

Expected work hours:

Work hours for this position are highly variable and will depend on project schedules, contractor operations, weather, and requests from IDOT Resident Engineers. Some weeks may require no work, while other weeks may require up to 30 to 40 hours. The weight checks requests do occur year-round; however, the bulk of the work is done between April and October.

Compensation:

The pay range for this role is $30.00 - $45.00 per hour. Actualpensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
