This part-time FLSA non-exempt position is responsible for picking up and delivering vehicles between facilities as directed by the Fleet Parts and Service Manager. Vehicle Transport Technician 1 handles vehicles and trailers that require only a Class C license.SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the general guidance and direction of the Director of Support Services.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment.)- Transport vehicles between facilities and vendors as directed by the Fleet Parts and Service Manager.
- Ensure the safe and timely delivery of vehicles to their designated locations.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle transportation activities and mileage.
- Adhere to safety regulations and practices while operating vehicles.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Texas Driver's License.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to operate a variety of vehicles, including trucks and trailers.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
- Work is performed in a mixed maintenance shop and office environment
- Subject to sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing under/over equipment, and lifting objects up to 100 pounds
- Long hours, exposure to variable weather conditions, dangerous machinery, noise from equipment operation, oil, grease, fuel, fumes, and hazardous chemicals/materials.
