Job Description

About the Role Alpha Finish is a premium surface protection studio specializing in paint protection film, ceramic coating, and window film for discerning owners of premium and performance vehicles, homes, and commercial properties. We're looking for a skilled Window Film Installation Technician to serve as the entry point of our service offering — automotive tint in our Newtown Township studio and residential/commercial architectural film on-site at client properties.
This is a hybrid role:
shop-based for automotive work, mobile for residential and commercial installations. It's a strong fit for an installer who wants to build cross-disciplinary skill across automotive and architectural film rather than staying in one lane. Key Responsibilities Automotive (in-studio) Install window film on customer vehicles to Alpha Finish quality and finish standards, including precision pattern cutting, edge work, and defect-free application Inspect vehicles pre- and post-installation; document existing glass condition, defroster lines, and any pre-existing damage Maintain safe cure-time conditions (bay temperature, humidity, dust control) to protect film adhesion and warranty integrity Coordinate with front-of-house/scheduling on realistic turnaround times per vehicle and film spec Flag any vehicle-specific installation risks (aftermarket sensors, heated glass, curved rear windows) before committing bay time Residential & Commercial (on-location) Install architectural window film at customer residences and commercial properties per project specifications Assess flat glass condition on-site prior to installation — identify existing seal failures, thermal stress risk (especially on older single-pane or heat-absorbing glass), and any conditions that could void film or glass warranty Manage a mobile installation kit (tools, film stock, solution, safety equipment) and maintain it to Alpha Finish standards Represent Alpha Finish professionally in client homes and businesses — this is the most visible, trust-dependent part of the role Communicate realistic scheduling windows accounting for weather, glass access, and site conditions General Maintain consistent quality standards across both disciplines; escalate any job outside current skill level rather than compromising finish quality Track and report material usage, waste, and rework for cost control Participate in ongoing certification and training as Alpha Finish's film brand partnerships are finalized Maintain accurate job documentation in the shop management system (OrbisX) Requirements 1+ years of professional window film installation experience (automotive, architectural, or both) — candidates with architectural/flat-glass experience and no automotive background are encouraged to apply Demonstrated precision hand-tool skill: squeegee technique, blade work, pattern application Valid driver's license and clean driving record (required for on-location residential/commercial work) Reliable transportation to/from the studio; ability to transport a mobile installation kit to client sites Comfortable working independently at client residences and commercial properties without direct supervision Physical ability to work in varied positions (kneeling, reaching, overhead work) for extended periods, indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditions Strong attention to detail and a low tolerance for finish defects Professional presentation and communication — this role is client-facing in a way our in-studio roles are not Preferred IWFA (International Window Film Association) certification, or willingness to pursue it Manufacturer-specific installation certification (automotive and/or architectural film brand — Alpha Finish will support certification training as brand partnerships are finalized) Prior experience working directly in client homes or occupied commercial spaces Experience identifying and communicating pre-existing glass conditions to protect against liability disputes What Alpha Finish Offers Competitive pay [hourly base + per-job incentive structure — TBD based on final comp model] Manufacturer certification training sponsored by Alpha Finish A defined path to specialization as our residential/commercial film program scales Modern, well-equipped studio facility in
