AOV) Summary Join our team as a Vehicle Data Technician and play a key role in developing innovative vehicle integration solutions. Using advanced 3D scanning technology, you will collect and manage vehicle data, validate product fitment, and support the design and development of industry-leading products. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with vehicles, technology, and engineering teams to turn real-world data into practical solutions. Responsibilities Capture 3D scanning data of vehicle surfaces and features, that are critical to facilitating integrated designs of vehicle specific solutions. Process and prepare 3D scan data to ensure accuracy and ease of use in SolidWorks. Maintain an organised library of vehicle data. Design and maintain a 3D Scanning and Measurement workstation that supports design and verification tasks. Uninstall and reinstall OEM vehicle components to gain access to interfaces that support newly design components Aid in identifying the variations in interface, between the trims/models of a vehicle type. Perform fitment of production samples to verify vehicle integration Collaborate with Design Engineers, acting on behalf of the end user with respect to reviewing the ease of installation of newly created designs. Participate in DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) studies relevant to the electrical and mechanical aspects of new products. Author Installation Instructions by clearly documenting, in text and photography, the order of operations and tools required to install new product. Authoring and managing Best Practices and tools related to Vehicle Data and Documentation, in cooperation with the Global Design Team. Organize and maintain a library of company products, samples, and vehicle components. Developing and implementing process improvements and technological upgrades. Hosting training for team members as the Vehicle Data Collection Subject Matter Expert (SME).
Qualifications:
Experienced technician with Automotive (required) and Powersports (preferred) background. Knowledgeable and disciplined in general automotive shop safety practices, with an emphasis on electrical and vehicle lifting. Well-practiced in 3D scanning, data editing & management, and other means of measurement. Ability to generate and maintain vehicle models in SolidWorks Reviewing development schedules, processes, specifications, and related information.
