Your Role:

More Than a JobIts a Mission! As a Residential Advisor, youll be the heartbeat of our dorm community. Youll mentor, motivate, and guide young adults (ages 16-24) as they build brighter futures through education and career training.

What Youll Be Doing:

Creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive living space

Leading by examplesetting the tone for responsibility and growth

Coaching students through life skills, conflict resolution, and personal development

Keeping things running smoothly with dorm checks, reports, and teamwork

Being the trusted adult students turn to for support and encouragement

SCHEDULE

Sunday-Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday 3pm-12am / Friday-Saturday

WHAT IS EXETER JOB CORPS ACADEMY?

We support the Job Corps programs mission to teach eligible young people the skills they need to become employable and independent and place them in meaningful jobs or further education. Our center specializes in Culinary Arts, Welding, Electronics Engineering, and Patient Care.

EMPLOYMENT AT EXETER JOB CORPS

Employment at Exeter Job Corps is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, employment verification, education verification, professional reference check and motor vehicle record check.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing guidance to students while maintaining a positive dormitory living environment

Host dorm activities/groups and assist in recreational activities on and off Center.

Dorm activities can include:

holding required dorm meetings, host arts and crafts, game night, etc.

Foster positive peer relationships along with leadership role modeling techniques

Assist in student retention by providing an interactive, comfortable living environment that is conducive to students achieving their goals while in the Job Corps program

Provide proactive conflict resolution. Counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal hygiene, and study habits

Conduct accountability for any minor students during an hourly roll call throughout the shift

Qualifications:
  • Must be 21 years or older to apply
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, A.S. or B.A. preferred for promotional opportunities
  • A minimum of one year working with youths preferred
  • A valid driver's license preferred

Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching.
