Overview We are a member-owned electric cooperative serving communities across South Carolina with reliable, affordable energy. We are seeking an experienced automotive equipment mechanic. Duties Performs routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment to ensure safe operation and extended service. Performs major overhauls and repairs to engines, transmissions, drive trains, etc., including hydraulic and electrical systems. Performs major maintenance, repair, and overhaul to equipment such as derrick, right-of-way, and bucket trucks. Performs bodywork, welding, and metal repair. Performs field repairs when necessary. Assists in oil spill clean up and assessment, repairs equipment in field if possible, and provides containment. Performs site work, mowing, and routine maintenance at substations and industrial park. Performs Department of Transportation inspections on trucks and trailers to assure vehicles are safe and road worthy. Maintains shop area in a neat and orderly fashion to ensure a safe work environment. Serves on-call duty for shop as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Skills and knowledge normally acquired through a technical certification in automotive repair. Must have working knowledge of hydraulic overhauling, transmission repairs, and body work. Prefer a minimum of five years experience in related field. Valid S.C. Commercial Driver's license is required. Must possess a current Medical Examiner's certificate.

Pay:

$45,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
