Position Summary The Automotive Fleet Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on gasoline- and diesel-powered fleet vehicles at jobsite locations. This position requires a self-motivated technician who can work independently while delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality service in a mobile environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance services, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, tire rotations, and multipoint inspections. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns on gasoline and diesel vehicles. Perform brake, steering, suspension, cooling system, charging system, starting system, and HVAC repairs. Conduct diagnostic testing using OEM and aftermarket scan tools. Complete scheduled fleet maintenance according to manufacturer specifications. Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and repair documentation. Communicate findings and recommended repairs with fleet manager. Maintain inventory, tools, and equipment in the mobile service vehicle. Ensure all work is performed safely and complies with company policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental standards. Respond to roadside or emergency service calls when required. Keep the mobile service vehicle clean, organized, and fully stocked. Qualifications Experience servicing gasoline and diesel-powered light- and medium-duty vehicles. Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems independently. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in varying weather conditions. Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills. Proficiency with diagnostic software and electronic repair information systems. Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card Preferred Qualifications ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications are recommended and strongly preferred but are not required. Experience with fleet maintenance operations. CDL is a plus but not required.
