$25.00-$32.00 per hour, based on experience Experienced Golf Cart Technician Wanted Island Rides is growing, and we're looking for an experienced technician who wants to grow with us. We are a Charleston-area golf cart company specializing in sales, service, rentals, customization, and electric vehicles . We are looking for a skilled, dependable Golf Cart Mechanic / EV Service Technician who can diagnose problems, make repairs correctly, and work independently. If you currently work on Club Car, EZGO, Yamaha, Bintelli, electric vehicles, powersports equipment, or similar vehicles, we want to talk to you. This is a hands-on position with a variety of work. You won't be doing the same repair all day. You'll work on customer carts, our rental fleet, new and used inventory, custom builds, and modern lithium powered EVs. What You'll Be Doing Diagnose mechanical and electrical golf cart problems Troubleshoot 36V, 48V, 51V and 72V electrical systems Diagnose lithium batteries, chargers, controllers, motors, wiring, switches, and related electrical components Perform brake, steering, suspension, bearing, bushing, hub, tire, and wheel repairs Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections Install lithium battery conversions and related components Install accessories including lighting, sound systems, seats, wheels, tires, lift kits, mirrors, windshields, and other upgrades Prepare new and used golf carts for customer delivery Inspect and maintain our rental fleet Perform test drives and final quality-control inspections Diagnose customer complaints and determine the actual cause of the problem Document repairs and identify parts needed Maintain an organized and professional service area Pick up and deliver golf carts for rental customers and service clients Perform mobile service and repairs on customer golf carts when needed We're Looking for Someone Who Can Diagnose Not Just Replace Parts A strong candidate should be comfortable troubleshooting a problem and determining why something isn't working before replacing components. You should have experience with some combination of: Golf cart repair Automotive repair Powersports Electric vehicles DC electrical systems Lithium battery systems Small vehicle or equipment repair Qualifications Strong mechanical ability Strong electrical troubleshooting skills Experience using a multimeter and diagnostic equipment Understanding of DC electrical systems Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams Experience with brakes, steering, suspension, wheels, tires, and general vehicle repair Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems systematically Ability to work independently and manage multiple repairs Good attention to detail Dependable attendance and strong work ethic Valid driver's license Ability to safely operate, load, unload, pick up, and deliver golf carts Ability to safely lift and move parts, wheels, batteries, and equipment associated with golf cart repair Direct golf cart experience is strongly preferred. Experience with Club Car, EZGO, Yamaha, Bintelli, lithium battery systems, electric vehicles, or aftermarket golf cart components is a major plus. We're willing to pay at the upper end of the range for an experienced technician who can independently diagnose and repair golf carts, troubleshoot electrical and lithium systems, and consistently produce quality work. Candidates coming from automotive, powersports, EV, or similar technical backgrounds will also be considered if they have strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills. Professional training and continued education opportunities will be considered for the right candidate.
