Job Overview As a Lift Truck Mechanic at Southeastern Paperboard, Inc., you will be responsible for the following: Follow a checklist of inspection procedures Performs repair work on all company Forklifts, Clamp Trucks, and attachments Test drive lifts to diagnose malfunctions, and ensure they run smoothly after repairs Read and interpret diagnostic test results, often by using dials, gauges, and other computer equipment Raise equipment by using hydraulic jacks or hoists Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of vehicles Do routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system components Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment Disassemble and reassemble equipment and parts Diagnose problems and then perform repairs to engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, lighting, tires and wheels Will comply with all safety policies and procedures Preventative maintenance such as oil changes, light replacement, appearance and other routine repairs Maintain computerized data on repairs and parts On call for emergency Qualifications A high school education or equivalent 3 (+) years experience repairing lifts trucks required Must have own hand tools Must have strong Electrical skills Be mechanically inclined
