Job Overview Job description: Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Mechanic to join our family-owned car rental company , where teamwork, respect, and long-term relationships truly matter. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, diagnostics, and maintenance, with experience working on a variety of vehicle makes and models. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive, close-knit, family-oriented environment where technical expertise is valued and hard work is recognized. The Automotive Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring our rental vehicles are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance for our customers. Duties Conduct diagnostics using automotive scanner to identify mechanical and electronic issues Perform basic repairs on engines, transmissions, powertrain components, suspension systems, brakes, and steering Execute routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, tire mounting, and suspension parts. Repair or replace vehicle components including shocks & struts, brake systems, axles, and exhaust systems Utilize hand tools and power tools efficiently for disassembly and reassembly of vehicle parts Diagnose and repair ABS (driver assistance systems) and other electronic systems Maintain accurate and detailed records of work performed using computer software Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards Contribute to a positive, family-style work environment while providing excellent internal and customer service Experience & Qualifications Previous automotive shop experience strongly preferred Proven expertise in automotive diagnostics, including the use of schematics and diagnostic tools Experience working on a wide range of vehicles Knowledge of brake repair, suspension work, tire service, shocks & struts replacement, oil changes, A/C systems, and general maintenance Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical issues to management This position requires a commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and reliability while supporting the values of a family-owned business that takes pride in both its employees and its customers.
