Job Description
At Jerry's Chevrolet GMC of Vermillion, we're looking for an experienced Level A Service Technician who takes pride in doing the job right the first time. If you're someone who enjoys diagnosing complex issues, staying current with today's vehicle technology, and working alongside a team that respects your knowledge and experience, we'd like to meet you. What You'll Do Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical concerns on a wide variety of vehicles. Perform advanced engine, transmission, suspension, steering, brake and electrical repairs. Complete factory maintenance and warranty work according to manufacturer standards. Use diagnostic equipment and service information to accurately identify vehicle concerns. Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to verify proper operation. Clearly document repair findings and recommendations. Work closely with Service Advisors to keep customers informed throughout the repair process. Mentor and assist less experienced technicians when needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. What We're Looking For Several years of professional automotive repair experience. Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills. ASE Certifications are preferred but not required. GM experience is a plus, but we're willing to consider experienced technicians from other manufacturers. Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment. Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship. Valid driver's license with a good driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical duties required in a service shop. Why Jerry's? We're a family-owned dealership that's been serving the region for decades. We believe experienced technicians deserve more than just a paycheck—they deserve a workplace where they're respected, supported, and given opportunities to grow.
