Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Truck/Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of heavy-duty vehicles and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our fleet operational and reliable, supporting our commitment to excellence in transportation, construction, and industrial operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity for mechanics passionate about heavy machinery, automotive systems, and hands-on problem solving. Duties Conduct thorough inspections of heavy trucks, farm machinery, industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, and other heavy-duty machinery using schematics and diagnostic tools. Perform repairs on mechanical systems including transmissions, suspensions, hydraulics, air brakes, steering components, and electrical systems. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding and power tools to meet specific operational needs. Maintain and repair vehicle systems such as HVAC units, shocks & struts, tires, and alignments to ensure safety and efficiency. Use automotive electrical system repair techniques including soldering and troubleshooting to resolve complex electrical issues. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, and equipment lubrication to maximize lifespan of machinery. Operate heavy equipment safely during diagnostics or repairs when necessary while adhering to all safety protocols. Experience Proven dealership experience or extensive background working with heavy trucks and industrial equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in fabricating, welding, and using hand tools for repairs. Familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting electrical systems and mechanical components on various machinery including Caterpillar equipment or similar brands. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, forklifts, cranes, or tractor-trailers is highly desirable. Knowledge of diesel mechanics including engine repair, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and vehicle maintenance practices. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately to diagnose issues efficiently. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
