Job Overview As an Automotive Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and performance of vehicles. Your expertise will shine as you diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of automotive systems. What you'll do Diagnose and repair automotive electrical systems, transmissions, and powertrains to ensure optimal vehicle performance. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and alignments to keep vehicles in top shape. Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to execute repairs and maintenance tasks with precision. Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex automotive issues efficiently. Engage with customers to provide clear explanations of repairs needed and offer excellent customer service throughout the process. Conduct thorough automotive diagnostics to identify problems accurately and recommend appropriate solutions. Collaborate with team members to enhance service efficiency and share knowledge about new technologies like Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols while performing all tasks. Basic qualifications Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair and maintenance. Familiarity with diesel engine repair is a plus, along with experience working on GM vehicles. Preferred qualifications Previous dealership experience is highly desirable. Experience as a service technician with strong skills in auto estimating and welding. Strong understanding of alignment procedures and automotive diagnostics processes.
