Responsibilities Greet customers warmly, listen carefully to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document their needs. Explain repair procedures, estimates, and recommended services clearly, ensuring customers understand their options. Use estimating software and automotive diagnostics tools to prepare accurate service estimates and work orders. Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, suspension work, or transmission services to maximize customer value. Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of services. Maintain detailed records of all transactions, including cash handling and payment processing. Communicate effectively with clients about vehicle status updates, repair timelines, and additional recommendations for vehicle maintenance or collision repair. Utilize computer-aided vehicle damage estimating systems for collision repair assessments when applicable. Foster positive client relationships through excellent communication skills and personalized service advice. Stay informed about automotive repair trends, dealership promotions, and service specials to enhance sales opportunities. Qualifications Proven experience as an automotive service advisor or in a similar auto service management role within a dealership or independent shop. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience as a mechanic or service technician preferred. Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating systems is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally. Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, oil changes, tire service, brake repair, suspension work, shocks & struts, air brake systems, transmissions, and other vehicle maintenance procedures. Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust. Experience with auto estimating tools and collision repair processes is a plus. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to drive various types of vehicles safely. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and cash handling procedures.
