The Service Technician at Challenger Tire & Auto plays a key role in keeping vehicles safe, reliable, and road-ready. In this hands-on role, you will inspect, repair, install, and maintain tires on a wide range of vehicles, perform essential maintenance tasks such as oil changes and fluid checks, and carry out brake services. This position requires solid automotive experience, mechanical skill, the ability to handle physically demanding tasks, and a strong commitment to customer service in a busy shop environment.
Key Duties:
Tire Services:
Install, rotate, balance, and repair tires on various types of vehicles.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Perform oil changes, replace filters, check and refill fluids, inspect belts and hoses, and complete other routine maintenance tasks.
Brake Services:
Perform brake inspections, pad and rotor replacements, and related brake system maintenance and repairs.
Equipment Operation:
Safely operate lifts, tire changers, balancers, and a wide range of hand and power tools.
Shop Maintenance:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following all safety protocols.
Customer Service:
Maintain a professional, positive attitude and communicate effectively with team members and customers.
Requirements:
Solid experience in automotive service, including tire, brake, and basic maintenance work. Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work independently. Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs (e.g., heavy tires, wheels, brake components) as part of daily duties. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and automotive shop equipment. Strong work ethic and ability to stay productive in a fast-paced team environment. Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with coworkers and serve customers professionally.
