About the Role First Fleet Services is hiring an experienced Heavy Truck Technician II for our City of Arlington fleet operation. You'll maintain and repair the heavy equipment that keeps the city running: dump trucks, refuse trucks, street and utility trucks, and other medium- and heavy-duty equipment. This role is for a skilled, self-directed tech who knows diesel engines, air brakes, and heavy-duty electrical systems and takes pride in doing the job right. What You'll Do Diagnose and repair diesel engines, including aftertreatment systems (DPF, DEF/SCR, EGR). Service and repair air brake systems, suspensions, steering, and drivetrains. Troubleshoot heavy-duty electrical and electronic systems with OEM diagnostic software. Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, PTOs, and body equipment on specialty trucks. Perform preventive maintenance inspections and DOT/annual inspections. Handle medium-duty and transit vehicles as needed, including Handitran units. Record labor, parts, and repair details accurately in the fleet management system. Mentor less experienced technicians and help keep the shop safe and organized. What We're Looking For 5+ years of medium/heavy-duty truck repair experience. 4-6 current ASE certifications , preferably in the Medium/Heavy Truck (T-series) group, such as T2 Diesel Engines, T4 Brakes, T5 Suspension & Steering, T6 Electrical/Electronic, and T8 PMI. Strong diesel diagnostic skills with software such as Cummins INSITE, Detroit DiagnosticLink, Allison DOC, or JPRO. Air brake and hydraulic system experience required. Welding/fabrication skills and a Texas Class A or B CDL are a plus. Your own professional heavy-duty tool set. Valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
