Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and dependable Automotive Alignment & Suspension Technician to join our tire and automotive service team. This position is primarily focused on wheel alignments, suspension and steering diagnosis, front-end repairs, and identifying tire wear conditions related to alignment or suspension issues . The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience performing alignments on passenger vehicles, SUVs, and light-duty trucks and is comfortable diagnosing worn or damaged suspension and steering components. You should be able to inspect a vehicle, identify the cause of uneven tire wear or poor handling, recommend necessary repairs, and complete accurate alignments to manufacturer specifications. Responsibilities Perform 2-wheel and 4-wheel alignments on passenger cars, SUVs, and light-duty trucks. Inspect and diagnose suspension and steering systems before performing alignments. Identify worn, loose, bent, or damaged components that may prevent a proper alignment. Diagnose vehicle concerns such as pulling, drifting, uneven tire wear, steering wheel vibration, and off-center steering wheels . Inspect and service suspension and steering components, including: Tie rods and tie-rod ends Ball joints Control arms Bushings Struts and shocks Sway bars and links Wheel bearings/hubs Steering components Perform suspension and front-end repairs as needed before completing alignments. Adjust camber, caster, and toe according to manufacturer specifications. Inspect tires for irregular or premature wear and determine whether the condition is related to alignment, suspension, tire pressure, or other mechanical issues. Work closely with tire technicians and service/sales staff to communicate necessary repairs and alignment recommendations. Properly operate and maintain alignment racks, alignment machines, lifts, hand tools, and shop equipment. Perform post-repair and post-alignment inspections to verify proper vehicle handling and steering wheel position. Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all shop safety procedures. Accurately document inspections, repairs, and services performed. Qualifications Previous experience as an Alignment Technician, Suspension Technician, Front-End Technician, or Automotive Technician strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of wheel alignment, suspension, steering, and tire wear patterns . Hands-on experience diagnosing and replacing suspension and steering components. Ability to properly adjust camber, caster, and toe . Experience operating computerized wheel alignment equipment. Knowledge of tire installation, balancing, rotation, and tire-related vehicle concerns is preferred. Ability to identify when suspension or steering repairs are required before an alignment can be properly completed. Comfortable working on passenger cars, SUVs, and light-duty trucks. Ability to safely lift tires, wheels, and automotive components. Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced tire shop environment . Ability to communicate clearly with service advisors, sales staff, technicians, and management. Preferred Experience Experience in a tire shop, wheel and tire center, alignment shop, or automotive repair facility is highly preferred. Candidates with strong experience in alignments, suspension repairs, front-end work, and diagnosing uneven tire wear are encouraged to apply.
