PRIMARY FUNCTION/RESPONSIBILTY

Maintain and repair physical plant (indoor and outdoor to include buildings, vehicles, and grounds) under the direction of Facilities Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Establish and maintain communication between Administration and Program Staff. Submit accurate open and closed maintenance requests promptly. Conduct weekly inspections of organization's buildings, grounds, and vehicles. Report any work hazards. Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with State/City/County authorities to ensure organization's buildings, vehicles, and grounds meet code regulations. Prioritize and monitor maintenance requests daily. Install/repair mechanical, motor, lighting, plumbing, electrical fixtures, and appliances. Maintain swimming pool water and chemical levels. Maintain and ensure organization's vehicles meet maintenance and safety standards. Maintain master key set and control for organization's buildings and vehicles. Responsible grounds upkeep. Operate machinery as required. Assist with delivery and moving of furniture. Assist with unloading and storing of supplies. Assist with Fleet related duties such as moving vehicles to designated location, servicing, and cleaning Ability to work an on-call rotation schedule. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certification.

Preferred:

6 Months apprenticeship or education in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, or related field. 2+ years maintenance.

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:

Valid Texas Driver's License, good driving record, ability to provide own transportation and proof of current automobile insurance. CPR/First Aid Certification; course and certification provided by employer. OSHA 10 Hour Training Course provided by employer. Age minimum of 21 years of age per licensing standards.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical Demands Body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend, reach, and walk. Stamina to work long days and drive long distances. Moderate to heavy lifting up to 75 pounds unassisted and up to 120 pounds or more with assistance. Visual and Cognitive Demands Must have the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Must have the ability to give and receive verbal and written instructions. Must have fine vision, sustained vision, and peripheral vision. Environmental Demands Environment requires dexterity to remain calm and adapt to fast paced and emotional environments consisting of children with moderate to severe emotional and psychological needs. Work Environment Office/Outdoor settings with varying moderate to high degrees of background noise. Light and ventilation are found in a typical home setting. Campuses are smoke-free, except on permitted campuses in designated areas. Possible Hazards Possibility of exposure to blood borne pathogens exists if universal precautions are not followed. Possible injury when lifting or moving if employee fails to use proper body mechanics, or if proper techniques are not used. Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals and equipment. Proper protective clothing and gear to include gloves, masks, and eye guards are required as needed. Further training on use of chemicals may be required.
