Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Service Technician to join our service team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, diagnostics, and maintenance, with experience working on various vehicle makes and models. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where technical expertise and customer service skills are highly valued. The technician will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, including GM vehicles and diesel engines. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on powertrain components, transmissions, and diesel engines. Execute vehicle alignments, wheel balancing, and steering system repairs. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive service tools efficiently. Repair or replace vehicle components such as belts, hoses, brakes, suspension parts, and electrical systems. Interpret manufacturer specifications and schematics to accurately diagnose issues. Perform ADAS calibrations and ensure all repairs meet safety standards. Maintain detailed records of services performed using auto estimating software. Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment at all times. Experience Previous dealership experience is preferred but not required; relevant service technician experience is essential. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, powertrain components, transmissions, and diesel engine repair. Familiarity with GM vehicles is a plus. Experience with vehicle maintenance procedures including oil changes, fluid services, and routine inspections. Proficiency in using schematics for troubleshooting complex electrical or mechanical issues. Hands-on experience with automotive repair tools such as hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized diagnostic devices. Knowledge of auto estimating processes and customer service best practices is advantageous. Certification or training in automotive diagnostics or specific systems (e.g., ADAS) is desirable but not mandatory.
